Art classes such as dancing and drawing classes are important in students' development so they should become compulsory courses in high school. To what extent do u agree or disagree?
Art classes play a key role in the sound growth of students in high school. Therefore, I can find myself in complete agreement with the idea that curriculums like dancing and drawing are supposed to be listed as required courses.
Granted, students acquire basic knowledge from compulsory courses in high school, which helps to lay a solid foundation for their future academic study. They have to calculate the math questions for right answers and stay in library all day to finish the papers before deadlines. Thus, if art classes are added as required courses, students will have to distract themselves from the busy schoolwork and care for the new tasks, which may place a heavy burden on their shoulders.
However, art courses that are also great fun to students could be considered as a better way to relieve the stress caused by academic learning. More importantly, the main task for high school education is not only to impart knowledge, but to cultivate all-round talents. Art classes could serve the function and benefit students’ growth in psychology and future personal development. Specifically, music class like playing the piano or composing music helps to foster noble emotion and aesthetic taste and make students more patient, calm and confident when they are in trouble. It is also true to the drawing class, from which students can stretch imagination to present their psychological status and views on the social problems. These characters and skills prepare students for their higher education and future life.
In conclusion, it seems to me that art classes should be a must in high school.
